Welcome to Kathy's Kritters. I hope you enjoy your visit!

I have been a hamster owner since 1992, when Santa Claus brought Pawn for my four- and seven-year-old sons. We were hooked from the first moment he arrived! Over the years, we've enjoyed 16 hamsters, plus four litters of baby hamsters, one of which is documented in my Hamster Journal. We've had as many as 5 adult hamsters at once. One of our last hamsters was a very sweet hamster named Cammie. The story of when we first got Cammie is documented in My New Hamster. You can learn about all of our hamsters in the Hamster Gallery.

In December of 2000, we decided to expand our pet horizons and enjoy the companionship of a guinea pig, promptly named Scruffles, because of her "scruffly" fur. She needed a companion, so a month later, Piggles arrived. The two "sisters' enjoy munching on goodies, sleeping, and racing around on the floor when they get wild bursts of energy. In October 2003, another piggy, Pippi, joined our family. Adding guinea pigs to the mix inspired two true and very funny stories, Jailbreak and Hermione's Adventure. You can learn about all of our guinea pigs in the Guinea Pig Gallery, where there are also detailed directions on building a guinea pig cage and making a guinea pig house.

Being an animal lover, I had the amazing experience of watching a nest of baby robins grow up in May 2004. A few weeks later, I helped rescue a baby robin in my front yard. Both of these stories are contained in my Baby Robin Journal.

In February of 2010, I added a new resource, KathysKritters on Facebook, where fans can share information and upload their own pet photos and videos.
