This is a little closer look at the cage, showing Scruffles and Piggles near the bottom of the ramp.
You can see their houses off to the right, with the hayloft above. The hayloft normally includes an extra water
bottle and a large pile of fresh Timothy hay.
The houses are a little project that I designed myself. They are made from fleece, quilted,
and/or felt materials. There is an inside and outside layer so that a stiff material can be put in between.
At first, I used a crafting plastic grid material, but later I switched to Plexiglas for durability. I designed
the houses so that the inner stiff material can be removed in order to launder them. The sides are Velcroed
together, so that each house can lie flat for cleaning. They are strong enough to be double-stacked, and the pigs
really enjoy resting in the "top bunk."
